Marinette runs into the school locker room where everyone is showing off the gifts they made for Miss Bustier's birthday. Mylène gave her a braid of hair inspired by the breathing classes that make her less afraid of akumas. Nathaniel drew her as a superhero because she is always there for her students. Rose made her a notebook inspired by an exercise she makes them do where they exchange nice compliments with their neighbors. After hearing all the thoughtful gifts, Marinette worries that her gift is lame, but Alya assures her that there's no pressure on her. Adrien and some of the other students gather around Marinette to see what she has and she shows them that she made a makeup bag for Miss Bustier with a quote she taught her classmates on the first day of school and added a tube of lip balm inside. Adrien then asks Chloé what Miss Bustier got, but Chloé doesn't respond, leaving the whole class disappointed that she didn't get anything. Sabrina defends her by saying that Chloé just doesn't remember her birthday like her mother. Chloé tells Sabrina that the class doesn't need to hear her life story and even finds Miss Bustier's lessons on love ridiculous. Marinette whispers to Alya that Chloé has no heart, which Chloé overhears and gets provoked. When everyone leaves for Mrs. Mendeleev's classroom, Chloé sabotages Marinette's gift by drawing a permanent marker on it.
When it's time for Miss Bustier's class, everyone hands over the gifts they got her. Miss Bustier opens Marinette's first and is surprised. Noticing her confused expression, Marinette walked over to Miss Bustier and saw the permanent mark all over the bag. She immediately realizes it was Chloé's fault and points it out to her. The rest of the class is equally displeased. Alya calls Chloé worse than Hawk Moth, and Alix even points out that more than half of the city was akumatized because of her. However, Miss Bustier is more forgiving, calling the present wonderful and saying that she will be able to think of both Marinette and Chloé every time she uses it. Marinette believes that Chloé shouldn't get away with what she did, but Miss Bustier asks to speak to Marinette in front of the class and puts Alya in charge while they're both gone. Marinette thought she was in trouble and her emotions turned negative. Hawk Moth senses Marinette's feelings of injustice and sends an Akuma after her.
Marinette expresses her anger at getting in trouble for what she did to Chloé, but Miss Bustier assures her that she's not in trouble. She just wants her to be a positive example for her classmates by forgiving Chloé. This causes Marinette's negative emotions to disappear before the akuma can infect her. Marinette states that Chloé is the meanest person she has ever met, but Miss Bustier reminds Marinette that there are far worse people in Paris than Chloé Bourgeois. She expresses her belief that people like Chloé can do great things, but only think of themselves and need a positive example to change. Marinette understands. Miss Bustier then notices the akuma and fearfully tries to shoo it away, unaware that her fear makes her vulnerable to it. He throws a cosmetic bag at her and it infects the lip balm inside. Miss Bustier tries to fight the akuma, but Hawk Moth manages to convince her that he wants to help her spread love in the world in exchange for the Miraculouses Ladybug and Cat Noir. Miss Bustier accepts the deal and is transformed into Zombiza. Refusing to let Hawk Moth escape the akumatizing Miss Bustier, Marinette runs into the locker room and unhappily transforms into Ladybug.
Zombizou bursts into her classroom and smears lip balm on her lips. She then tells her students that from now on, everyone will be hugging, kissing and feeling the love – even Chloé. He kisses her, but Chloé uses Sabrina as a human shield and the kiss lands on her forehead instead. Before she can give Zombiza another kiss, Ladybug intervenes and begs Miss Bustier to stop. However, she says that she is no longer Miss Bustier and attacks Ladybug. While the two are fighting, the rest of the class runs out of the classroom. But Sabrina started to feel nauseous while running down the stairs and soon became a kissing zombie trying to kiss Chloe. Adrien pulls Chloé away from Sabrina, who kisses Mylène instead, turning her into a kissing zombie. Adrien realizes that kisses are contagious and warns everyone not to get kissed. Ivan detains Sabrina and Mylène while everyone else runs away.
Ladybug continues to fight Zombiza in Miss Bustier's classroom until an infected Sabrina, Mylène, and Ivan burst in. Zombizou decides to leave Ladybug in their hands and goes from classroom to classroom looking for Chloé while blowing more kisses to the students. Ladybug manages to tie up Sabrina, Mylène, and Ivan and then searches for anyone who hasn't been infected. She ends up finding Miss Bustier's class hiding in lockers in the locker room. However, Adrien does not come out of his locker and when Ladybug checks on him, she finds that he has turned into a kissing zombie. More kissing zombies burst into the locker room, so Ladybug takes everyone to the roof. Once they're gone, it's revealed that Adrien isn't actually a kissing zombie and was only pretending to be so he could transform into Cat Noir, though Plagg wonders if it was actually a trick to get a kiss from Ladybug.
Cat Noir joins everyone on the roof where Ladybug shows him a news broadcast about kissing zombies. The mayor issues an announcement advising people to stay home, but is hit and infected live in the air by, of all people, Police Officer Roger! Zombiza then infects host Nadja and announces that she is going after Chloé and then Ladybug and Cat Noir. Angry that another person has been akumatized because of her, they all start to wonder if they should just give Zombiza what she wants, but Ladybug intervenes, saying that Chloé doesn't deserve to be hit and will be needed as bait to lure Zombiza out when the time comes . is coming Just then, the kissing zombies manage to climb onto the roof, so Ladybug spots a nearby bus and comes up with a plan to lure everyone to safety. Cat Noir jumps onto the roof of the bus and uses his wand and belt to create a zipline, bringing the students onto the bus one by one. Unfortunately, they are unable to save everyone as Max and Kim are infected. When Chloé ziplines, she goes too fast and misses the bus.
