Mr. Ramier, XY, Mr. Damocles and Chloé are interviewed for a TVi news report about their thoughts on the Monarch taking all the Miraculouses. While the others share their positive opinions, Chloé, who still holds a grudge against Ladybug, says that Monarch would never have been able to take the Miraculouses if he was still Queen Bee. In the TVi studio, Nadja Chamack sits down with Alec, Bob Roth and Mr. Banana for a news report. They talk about how Ladybug lost all the Miraculouses to the Monarch and if he is the hero the people need. After everyone takes their opinion, they take a break.
In Adrien's room, Plagg plays with the Alliance ring. Adrien sees that he's practically become the puppet of every Alliance ring user, and it starts to annoy him. He takes the ring from Plagg and goes to confront his father. On his way, Adrien meets Nathalie and tells her that he needs to see his father. She replies that it's the perfect time because she's also waiting for him in the kitchen, surprising Adrien. She also says that she will accompany Adrien to the parent-teacher conference, but Gabriel interrupts her from the kitchen, saying that he will go instead, to which Nathalie frowns.
Inside the kitchen, Gabriel is revealed to be cooking French toast. Adrien walks into the kitchen and Nathalie closes the door behind him. Gabriel asks his son how he likes his French toast. When Adrien tells him what he prefers, Gabriel tells him to call him "Daddy" instead of "Father". Gabriel tells him that he cleared his parent-teacher conference schedule because it's about his future. Adrien is surprised by Gabriel's new behavior and asks if everything is okay. Gabriel tells him he's never felt better. He explains that he has allowed too much distance between himself and his son since his mother's disappearance. He expresses his disbelief that he couldn't even see that Adrien didn't want to be a model anymore. After the discussion, he tells Adrien to ask the Alliance how long he has to cook the eggs to be soft-boiled. At the mention of the Alliance, Adrien tells him that he's not very comfortable having his face on all those rings, and that's the main reason he quit modeling. Gabriel explains to him that it's just an image, not the real him, and since the image frees him from obligations, they'll be able to spend more time together. But if Adrien doesn't want it, he can undo it. Adrien understands and replies that he's fine with it. Afterwards, Gabriel and Adrien continue cooking.
Marinette and Alya are at their homes getting ready for school. Video Alya calls Marinette from the Alliance ring and asks if she's late, which Marinette denies but is visibly fixing her things and packing her bag. Alya tells her that she misses being Rena Rouge. Marinette replies that she also misses her former superhero team, but needs a way to get the Miraculous back from Monarch. Alya asks if he agrees to have Monarch put his akumatized villains on the Miraculous. As Marinette leaves the bakery, he agrees, but replies that when they deakumatize them, the villains never have Miraculous on them. Alya suggests that Monarch could have used Dog Miraculous to get Miraculous back. When the two of them meet at school and end their call, Marinette counters that Alye would have noticed the ball in that case. Suddenly Nino interrupts them and asks what they are talking about. They reply that they were talking about a "very hard new video game". Just then, the school bell rings and Nino frowns in annoyance at the interruption.
Inside the classroom, Mrs. Bustier informs the class that there will be no afternoon classes due to parent-teacher conferences regarding graduate studies. Nino tells Adrien that he is going to be a superhero. Adrien replies that he thought Ladybug couldn't give out Miraculous anymore. Nino says he's not talking about Miraculous because Monarch will have to deal with a new enemy, the Resistance. Adrien is surprised and asks if the Resistance is starting. Nino doesn't answer yet, but Adrien can be the first recruit, Comrade Mayo, and Nino will be Comrade Ketchup. Nino tells him that she already has a plan, but she can't talk about it in class.
Later, he and Marinette and Alya walk towards the cafeteria. Nino asks Adrien if his father is okay as he eats in the cafeteria. Alya goes on to ask him if he is really coming to the conference. Nino, noticing a change in Adrien's father's demeanor, asks Adrien if he is sure his father hasn't been akumatized again. Adrien just smiles at him at that but doesn't say anything.
Inside the cafeteria as they line up, Nino explains the cafeteria system to Adrien. Adrien expresses his surprise at this and begins to examine the dishes. As he selects each plate on the counter, his Alliance Ring hits one of the plates and lights up. After Adrien turns it off, Marinette asks him if he thinks it's weird to have his face on all those rings. Adrien replies that it's just his image and it allows him to spend more time with the people he cares about, like his father, his friends, and Marinette as well, much to her confusion. Chloe sees Adrien in the cafeteria and asks if he would like to have dinner with her. Adrien kindly declines her offer, saying that he is eating with his friends.
Nino then goes through how he and Alya Carapace and Rena Rouge were. Lila then appears and asks if she can sit with Adrien and his friends. Adrien asks if he can wait until tomorrow, in which she says yes. Using the Alliance ring, Lila takes a picture of Adrien dining with his friends in the cafeteria and posts it on social media. Nino describes how Monarch gives his akumatized villains Miraculous superpowers, though Ladybug and Cat Noir never find any on them. Nino then says that he will film the akumatization. When Alya asks how they will know that akumatization will happen, Nino says that they will create it.
Suddenly, people start pouring into the cafeteria looking for Adrien after Lily's picture went viral. The Resistance (Nino, Alya, Marinette and Adrien) rush to the boiler room. Lila secretly follows them. Nino then announces that Gabriel Agreste is an ideal parent for akumatization and will be used. Marinette and Adrien agree to the plan, despite Alya's objections. Lila listens to the meeting.
Mr. Agreste arrives at the school and Lila tells him about the Resistance's plans to akumatize him. At the meeting, Miss Bustier asks Mr. Agreste where Adrien's file is, but he tells her that Adrien has changed his wishes and needs help making a decision. After Marinette, Adrien, and Alya pretend to "accidentally" spill food on Mr. Agreste's food, he takes Adrien out of school.
On the way home, Mr. Agreste tells Adrien that he's going to call him Dad, not Daddy. At the Agreste mansion, Mr. Agreste tells Adrien to go to his room. In his secret lair, Mr. Agreste transforms into Mona
