Miraculous Ladybug Season 4 Episode 3 Gang of Secrets
The episode opens with Ladybug and Cat Noir already defeating the villain. As Cat Noir tries to start "pounding it" with Ladybug, he notices that she looks distracted and distressed. After Ladybug asks if something is wrong with him calling her "bugaboo", she ignores Cat Noir's question and finishes "pound it" without scolding him for calling her "bugaboo", which Cat Noir notes is for her unusual behavior. He then swings to the top of the building and suggests another patrol, which Cat Noir objects to and asks her to tell him what's going on, noting that Ladybug didn't even respond to him calling her "bugaboo".
Instead of telling him about her burden of constantly keeping secrets from her loved ones and her heartbreak over her recent breakup with Luka before this episode, Ladybug apologizes that she still has some extra time, but she doesn't want to talk. Cat Noir then tricks Ladybug into going on a date with him to the theater. Ladybug is even more upset by the movie because it reminds her of her current love situation. As Cat Noir is about to take Ladybug by the shoulders, she finally explodes and starts ranting about how unrealistic and lame the movie is and unwittingly rants about her own love situation, to the utter shock of Cat Noir and the other people watching the movie. Cat Noir is forced to escort Ladybug out of the theater and keeps apologizing to people passing by while Ladybug keeps bawling.
Once out of the theater, Cat Noir admits that even though he didn't understand everything in her rant, he found her heartbroken and tries to get Ladybug to talk about her love problems. Ladybug interrupts and tries to hide her broken heart from him by feigning excitement and telling him she wants to go swimming. However, Cat Noir does not fall for this act and reminds her that he is always there for her if she wants to talk about her problems. Just as Cat Noir finished his sentence, Ladybug turned away from him and pretended to be cheering, making Cat Noir look sad and worried about his partner. The Kwami then see Marinette coming home in an Aquabug suit and ask her what's going on.
Meanwhile, Alya, Juleka, Alix, Mylène and Rose try to help Marinette tell the truth about why she broke up with Luka. Marinette then breaks down about being a ladybug to Tikki and finally decides that she should still be a ladybug, transforms and heads for the roof. Alya, Juleka, Alix and Rose then sneak into Marinette's room so they don't find her there. Rose then notices a dollhouse Marinette made that contains a miracle box.
Alya then goes to the roof to find Marinette. Marinette then comes to the bed as Ladybug and Alya almost see her, just in time for her to transform. Marinette then sees Rose touching her dollhouse and quickly jumps in front of her, causing Rose to drop the roof of the dollhouse and break it. Rose apologizes and Alya asks what's going on. Marinette retorts at them for sneaking into her room and says that she doesn't want them as her boyfriend anymore so she's heartbroken. They go to the park to discuss and in their grief get akumatized by Shadow Moth after the akuma lands on the friendship bracelet Alix was holding.
